Parents are expected, and required, to afford BenStel staff the same respect and courtesy they have been instructed to extend to parents and guardians. Disrespect towards our staff will not be tolerated, and parents who are found in violation of this policy will subject their children to immediate dismissal and/or criminal prosecution.
Parents who have grievances or concerns are strongly encouraged to contact the BenStel Administrative Team to discuss the issue(s) directly. You can find the contact information for Administrative Team members listed at the beginning of this handbook. Parents are strongly discouraged from the use of social media such as WhatsApp or Telegram to address issues or to air their grievances.
Parents are encouraged to discuss BenStel’s rules and code of conduct with their children; emphasizing their support of them and assisting with their enforcement when possible.
Parents must assist their children in acquiring the needed resources for classroom learning, and are encouraged to take an active role in helping students complete their take-home assignments and prepare for examinations.
Parents are discouraged from giving gifts to staff members for services rendered or favours. All our staff members are trained and are expected to go above and beyond their call of duty without expecting any gifts in return. However, seasonal and festive gifts are acceptable.
Parents are not allowed to give money to any staff member to buy food or other goods for their children.
Parents are asked not to enter classrooms without first receiving approval from the teacher they wish to consult with.
When driving onto campus, Parents are strictly required to abide by safe traffic/driving standards. Speeding is strictly prohibited and will be severely dealt with.
Parents are strictly prohibited from harassing the children of other parents. Any conflicts must be resolved through parents or with the intervention of BenStel staff. Again, respect toward others (including other parents) must be exhibited at all times. Threats or intimidation exhibited towards any other member of the BenStel community will never be tolerated.
Parents are not permitted to enter the campus outside the hours of the school’s operation unless sanctioned to do so by BenStel staff.
The violation of any of these policies may subject the offending parents’ child(ren) to immediate dismissal depending on the severity of the offence.
